Exclusive Serenity intrigues with prestigious “Diamonds of the Indian Ocean” event

Cape Town, 12 August 2010. In cooperation with Uwe Koetter and The Idiom Collection, Exclusive Serenity organised a prestigious evening at the premises of Uwe Koetter Jewellers in Cape Town. Under the motto “Diamonds of the Indian Ocean”, Exclusive Serenity presented Frégate Island Private in the Seychelles and Coco Palm Bodu Hithi in Maldives to selected travel trade professionals. The highlight of the evening was the diamond cocktail: everybody got a glass of champagne which included a gem… one of them was the real diamond. From the moment the guests - by invitation only – entered the prestigious showroom at Uwe Koetter Jewellers, it was clear that they were in for a treat.

With compliments of The Idiom Collection, guests were spoiled with exquisite, award-winning wines: a rare and opulent wooded Viognier from the Rhône and the decadent Cape Blend which has won its own Diamond at the Investec Winemakers Choice, Double Gold at Michelangelo, Gold at Veritas and 4 Stars Wine Magazine.

Diamonds of the Indian Ocean Event

Uwe Koetter Jewellers have become one of the most renowned jewellery design and manufacturing companies in South Africa. They have also won many awards in recognition of pieces unique both in quality and design. Whilst enjoying their wines, guests could take some time to get inspired by the various jewellery on display prior to a demonstration at the workshop. Johan Louw, the General Manager at Uwe Koetter Jewellers, demonstrated how to make a wedding band which was an interesting and fascinating experience.

Following award-winning wine, the evening progressed with the diamond cocktail. Each guest received a glass of champagne for their enjoyment prior to the presentation of the “Diamonds of the Indian Ocean” by Exclusive Serenity: Coco Palm Bodu Hithi in Maldives introduced by Christiane Rieth, followed by a presentation about Frégate Island Private in the Seychelles by Melanie Floor.

Prior to the diamond testing, Kerry Collins from "here’s my card" won a stay at 15 on Orange, sponsored by Opulent Living, South Africa's most prestigious coffee table magazine.

Finally guests could take their diamond cocktails to the “diamond testing station” where the competent team of Uwe Koetter checked the stones and found out whether the gem was the real diamond. The lucky winner got to keep the real diamond found in the champagne glass. The diamond cocktail was sponsored with compliments of Uwe Koetter Jewellers and was the highlight of a truly memorable evening.

Exclusive Serenity takes over worldwide reservations for The Royal Park Hotel Kandersteg, Switzerland

Discovery of a little gem - majestically and impressively tower the summits of the Bluemlisalp behind the gardens and lawns of the Royal Park Hotel. Just about in the perimeter of the UNESCO protected Jungfrau-Aletsch area, Kandersteg welcomes its guests in the charming tradition of an un-spoilt Bernese alpine village surrounded by snow covered peaks, merely between Grindelwald and Gstaad. Only 50 min. by car from Bern (or 1¾ h from Zurich or Basel) Kandersteg is just as easily reached as many other resorts, yet convinces by its cosiness and authentic charm. The sunny platform, the unique nature reserve of the Gastern-valley with it many rare orchids, one of the alp’s most beautiful mountain lakes, the Oeschinen-lake closeby, or the mysteries of the Blausee are just some of many arguments that Kandersteg has to offer. In the heart of the village, one finds the Royal Park Hotel, belonging to the Rikli family since over 135 years; from the outside resembling the typical timber clad Chalet style, the hotel surprises from the inside with the tasteful and elegant interior of an aristocratic Bernese Country House from the 18th century. A lovely collection of genuine antiques, furniture and carpets enhances the special and refined atmosphere of the past times of Bern’s golden age, the Ancien Regime. The Hotels’ 24 bright and friendly rooms and Suites, too are set in the style of Louis XV and Louis XVI, the spacious restaurant offers an creative, fresh regionally inspired cuisine using lots of local and mountain ingredients. Outside, the terrace gives way to breathtaking views over the glaciers of the Altels and the Blümlisalp. The small cosy Alpenhof-Stuebli offers a wide array of Swiss specialties including Fondue and Raclette, which can just as well be enjoyed under mighty fine-trees in the middle of the gardens. The Hotel’s infrastructure offers its own tennis court, in- and outdoor pools, boats on the nearby lake of Thoune, own riding stables, a small Spa and a sheer uncounted number of hiking trails from very easy strolling to very challenging alpine climbing in summer and the whole range of winter sports in winter. The Royal Park Hotel is rated by the Swiss Hotel Association as five star plus and is Member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World – it is also one of the smallest luxury hotels in Switzerland.

Exclusive Serenity has been appointed as worldwide reservations office for the Royal Park Hotel in Kandersteg, Switzerland whilst also representing it in a sales & marketing function on the South African market.
